Our Vision:

In the midst of increasing changes in America’s culture and climate today, we see a growing need for more spiritually relevant methodology and pedagogy, God-fearing social innovators|accelerators, and culturally intelligent communities actively and confidently engaging in conversations and collaboration with one another, and other people in the world around us, without fear of undermining our faith and hope in the sacred Word of God and Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission:

“Inspiring [people of faith] through cultural intelligence and understanding and bridging the gaps that exist between us.”

“Enough food is produced today to feed everyone on the planet, but hunger is on the rise in some parts of the world, and some 821 million people are considered to be “chronically undernourished”. What steps are being taken to ensure that everyone, worldwide, receives sufficient food? United Nations

“Low income households often do not earn enough to pay for food, clothing, transportation and a place they can call home.” What Causes Homelessness. National Alliance to End Homelessness

“Declines in real income at the bottom of the income distribution resulted in increased income inequality as measured by the Gini index — a common measure of income inequality.” The United States Census

“The wealth divide among upper-income families and middle- and lower-income families is sharp and rising.: Trends in income and wealth inequality. Pew Center Research

“The bottomline is this: There are enough resources in America for everyone to enjoy a slice of the pie.” Coliér McNair

What is Slicing the PIE™

Inspired by a fundraising event conducted in 2014 called Sweet Potato PIE, where members of Zion City Church came together in a sweet potato pie cook-off, the slogan Slicing the PIE was coined in this Black/African American tasty cultural culinary tradition to raise awareness and funds in an effort to help support initiatives that provide resources and opportunities to families and children living in underserved communities, ultimately leading to greater equity and socio-economic justice.

Who are we?

We are a Christian organization of members from a former church and other churches reorganized according to our expertise within the Slicing the PIE™ narrative and structure and under the new Zion City, Inc., brand.

Three Key Ingredients:

There are three primary divisions of focus through which we use to communicate our Slicing the PIE™ message.

These three key ingredients in our “secret recipe” are enhanced by several activities including: content development, ministry and spiritual product design, provision of spiritual tools and resources, and material license and distribution.

All these things are used to employ and empower individuals and/or assist faith based institutions in their ability to seek, find, and pursue first the Kingdom of God, become His workmanship, and bring into reality His Divine will and plan for humankind.

Zion City Press

Zion City Press publishes both spiritually inspired and inspirational fiction and non-fiction books, materials and print resources. These publications are offered in three standard ready packages, the first of which features authors primarily from the ZCP line:

Coliér McNair is a social innovator and accelerator and leader of society who’s work revolves around cultural intelligence and the issue of reconciling this profound and deep wound that needs to heal and calling people of faith to that same work.

“When my friend Jim Bower (expert strategists, Chicago politics) first introduced me to the idea of becoming a Social Innovation Accelerator he charged me to look deep within myself and embrace this call [social innovation] that was clearly there for the taking if only I would muster the courage to acknowledge who I was and what I was obviously being called to do. My time with Jim, Dr. Alex Gee, and friends, co-workers and colleagues at Blackhawk Church helped to formulate the unique platform I now enjoy which has long existed in the black church and afforded to those many notable and extraordinary leaders who helm from this great sacred American religious institution.”

Coliér McNair is pastor at Blackhawk African American Ministries, a ministry of Blackhawk Church in Madison, Wisconsin, where the bulk of his time in this capacity is committed to helping to build and bring about a fluid biblically correct cross cultural intercultural experience.
